The £20m funding announced overnight includes measures to repair, restore and protect Ukraine’s power grid.
It will also contribute to maintaining heating and electricity supplies in Ukrainian homes, hospitals and schools this winter.
Citizens across the country have been left facing regular power blackouts as Russian strikes continue to cripple Kyiv’s energy infrastructure.
“As we mark a year of our unique partnership, we do so in awe of the courage and resilience demonstrated by Ukrainians every day as they repel Russia’s barbaric invasion.
“The people of Ukraine should be in no doubt – we will stand with you today, tomorrow and for the next 100 years, both at home and on the international stage, because what happens in Ukraine matters to us all.”
With the latest package, the UK has committed more than £470m of support for Ukraine’s energy sector since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022.
