Stewart noted that the social and political fabric of the nation feels increasingly fractured, stating, “Reality is breaking completely under Trump.” She urged others to take agency over their environments, suggesting that people should “create the reality we want to live in.”
The actress’s concerns aren’t merely philosophical; they are professional. When questioned about whether she intends to maintain her base in the US, Stewart admitted it was “Probably not.” She elaborated on the restrictive nature of the industry at home, claiming, “I can’t work freely there.” However, Stewart isn’t planning to retire from the craft. Instead, she envisions a future where she produces films in the more liberal artistic hubs of Europe. Her goal is to create work abroad and then bring it back to domestic audiences, expressing a defiant desire to “shove them down the throat of the American people.”
