Angel Reese Impresses with Ankle-Breaking Move in USA’s Win Over Senegal

Angel Reese, after two seasons with the Chicago Sky, made her senior international debut on Wednesday as the USA took out Senegal 110-46 in Group A of the 2026 FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament. Now, Team USA will turn its attention to the second group phase game on Thursday against the hosting team, Puerto Rico.

Not only did Reese make her debut appearance for Team USA’s senior team, but she also earned the start against Senegal. And the former LSU Tigers star delivered, recording six points on 2-of-4 shooting and eight rebounds. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, also making her debut, added 17 points on 4-of-5 shooting and 12 assists off the bench.

With just over six minutes remaining in the second quarter, Angel Reese grabbed a defensive rebound off a miss by Yacine Diop and took the ball up the court herself. As she crossed halfcourt, Diop picked her up defensively, but Reese made an impressive dribble move that caused the Senegal forward to fall to the floor, what is commonly known in basketball as an ankle breaker.

Following Reese’s move, Dallas Wings guard Paige Buecker would score a two-point jump shot, increasing the USA’s lead to 37-15. While Reese was subbed out just a couple of minutes later, many fans were still impressed with her ankle breaker, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.
