The Walt Disney Company has earned a record-breaking 96 news and documentary Emmy Award Nominations. These nominations spanned Disney’s content brands and studios, ABC News and National Geographic. National Geographic itself earned 51 of these nominations. This is the most that National Geographic has ever earned. Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller earned 25 of these nominations. This also marks the third year in a row that Trafficked has received the most nominations for a single title. This includes Outstanding Recorded News Program.
ABC News saw its best nomination year since 1969. It earned 47 nominations, the most for any broadcast network. ABC World News Tonight with David Muir earned its fifth consecutive nomination for Outstanding Live News Program. The program won this Emmy for the last three years in a row. The program also earned its highest total nominations since 2008. ABC News Studios earned 19 nominations in total. This is the highest it has ever earned in a single year. ABC News Live earned its highest total nominations in a single year. This includes five for Prime with Linsey Davis. This is the highest total for this broadcast since it debuted.
