NFL Draft: Breaking Down Picks 13-22

Picks 13-15: Rams, Ravens, Buccaneers

Round One, Pick Thirteen, Los Angeles Rams – Ty Simpson

Have the Rams drafted Stafford’s understudy in the Alabama signal caller, the 38-year-old QB is certainly edging towards his last seasons in the league despite some elite play in his twilight years.

When wondering if he should return to college Rams Gm Les Snead said he was first round ready, he is a raw prospect with only fifteen starts in his college career and they all came in the 2025 season.

Round One, Pick Fourteen, Baltimore Ravens – Olaivavega Loane

The Penn State guard had a dominant college career and is a true plug and play starter, and will be a key piece in blocking for all-pro QB Lamar Jackson and will be important in keeping him up right.

Round One, Pick Fifteen Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Rueben Bain Jr.

The Miami defensive end will join a unit full of young talent on the edge and veteran talent on the interior, on a defence who sat the bottom end of yards per game in 2025/26 he should help turn things around.

With high production throughout his college career he will terrorise tackles for years to come, he had nine and a half sacks and fifty four total tackles.

Only a short trip from south Florida to central for the young defender, and he was a high-effort and relentless defender during his CFB career.

Picks 16-18: Jets, Lions, Vikings

Round One, Pick Sixteen, New York Jets – Kenyon Sadiq

The first tight end off the board, actually looks like an action man as he is a dynamic threat who moves like a wide receiver and breaks tackles like a running back.

The Oregon Tight End, is multi talented who ran a 4.39 40 yard dash, but he is a very keen blocker who is not scared to put his hand in the dirt and block his man.

Round One, Pick Seventeen, Detroit Lions – Blake Miller

At almost six feet seven the 317 pound monster will be a massive asset to a depleted, once-elite offensive line.

The tackle started fifty four straight games for the Tigers and set the all time snap count record, 3,778, he will be a star tackle who is available for years to come.

When you pair him with Penei Sewell the Lions will have bookend tackles for years to come.

Round One, Pick Eighteen, Minnesota Vikings – Caleb Banks

Brian Flores gets another defensive weapon in the highly athletic interior defensive linemen, Flores lost two core defensive tackles in the off-season, despite coming off an injury the Vikings are banking on upside.

Has not played a full season since the 2024/25 season in which he had four and a half sacks and 7 tackles for loss, he is the definition of boom or bust talent.

Picks 19-22: Panthers, Cowboys trade, Steelers, Cowboys

Round One, Pick Nineteen, Carolina Panthers – Monroe Freeling

In a similar vein to the previous pick the Panthers have gone for boom or bust on the other side of the trenches, despite this lack of play the tackle achieved all SEC honours.

Round One, Pick 20, Philadelphia Eagles – Dallas Cowboys Makai Lemon

A rare in division trade as the eagles receive a seventh round pick in exchange they sent the 114 and the 137th overall picks.

The Biletnikoff award winner went for over a 1000 yards in the FBS and it shows that they are moving towards removing AJ brown from their roster, when pairing this pick with DeVonta Smith and Hollywood Brown he will surely continue to produce.

Round One, Pick 21, Pittsburgh Steelers – Max Iheanachor

Finally for the home team they get their pick as they brought Jerome Bettis award winners to announce the pick of the Steelers new offensive linemen.

The offensive lineman came through the international pathway as he was born in Nigeria, he never played football in high school and only picked it up once he went to JUCO.

Round One, Pick 22, Dallas Cowboys – Akheem Mesidor

The 25 year old Miami linebacker produced the entire time he was in college finishing his 52.5 Tfls and 35 sacks he went from a three star recruit to a first round pick.
