US President Donald Trump has claimed Ali Khamenei is dead following hours of speculation about the ayatollah’s whereabouts.
In a Truth Social post, Mr Trump said: “Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead.
“This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS.
“He was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do.
“This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country. We are hearing that many of their IRGC, Military, and other Security and Police Forces, no longer want to fight, and are looking for Immunity from us.
“As I said last night, ‘Now they can have Immunity, later they only get Death!’
“Hopefully, the IRGC and Police will peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots, and work together as a unit to bring back the Country to the Greatness it deserves.
“That process should soon be starting in that, not only the death of Khamenei but the Country has been, in only one day, very much destroyed and, even, obliterated.
“The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!”

IDF in ‘multi-front readiness’ in anticipation of an expanded military campaign, says military official
The IDF is preparing to expand its campaign to “additional arenas”, a military spokesman has confirmed.
In a statement, they set out the series of events from this morning.
- Earlier today, the IDF and the U.S. Army launched a broad wave of strikes against hundreds of targets in Iranian territory. The attack was based on an operational plan developed over several months, centered on an intelligence effort by the Intelligence Directorate to identify an operational opportunity at the moment when senior regime officials would convene.
- Three sites where gatherings of the Iranian terror regime were taking place were struck simultaneously, and several senior figures essential to the management of the campaign and the regime’s governance were eliminated.
- From the very first moment, a significant gap was evident between the scope of reports circulating across various arenas and the official picture presented by the authorities in Iran.
- The initial announcements were phrased in a vague and limited manner, at times avoiding direct reference to the extent of the damage and framing the events as marginal irregularities or as incidents that were largely thwarted.
- Simultaneously there were indications of internet disruptions in certain areas, alongside increased deployment of Basij forces and calming messages issued by the local police.
- These steps point to a combined security and informational effort by the regime aimed at managing the flow of information, preventing the spread of rumors, and minimising the public’s sense of harm.
- For a regime that relies heavily on an image of control, stability, and security superiority, any large-scale event that undermines the perception of strength requires a measured media response and at times partial concealment of data.
- The IDF, in close cooperation with the U.S. Army, worked for thousands of hours to build as valuable and extensive a target bank as possible. In recent months, the number of targets has increased by hundreds of percent. The IDF is prepared to strike in Iran as required.
- The IDF is in multi-front readiness in anticipation that the campaign may expand to additional arenas and is currently assessing the results of the strike.
