A hacker has claimed to have broken into a US-based platform used to collect anonymous tips for law enforcement and stolen millions of records. The platform, P3 Global Intel, is part of the safety firm Navigate360 and is used by the US police, schools, and government agencies to receive information from the public. The hacker said more than 8 million tips were accessed, along with sensitive data. Authorities and the company have not confirmed the claims. Reports said some of the leaked information includes personal details and confidential messages shared by tipsters.
Hacker’s warning to public
In a statement posted online, the hacker, using the name “Internet Yiff Machine,” said they had stolen 93 gigabytes of data from the system. The hacker also warned the public, saying, “Don’t do the dirty work for the pigs.”In an email, the hacker said they accessed one of the platform’s customer accounts through social engineering and then used a system weakness to extract the data. Straight Arrow News reported that it checked some of the leaked data by contacting individuals whose details appeared in the records.

The leak has raised concerns about whether tipsters’ identities are fully protected. While the platform claims anonymity, reports suggest that some personal information of tipsters may have been exposed.Emma Best, founder of Distributed Denial of Secrets, said the data “provides excruciating detail” about a system that “seeks to make everyone an informant.”Experts said exposure of such data could pose risks. Mailyn Fidler, a cybersecurity law expert, said the breach could lead to “severe harm and even death to police informants,” and may also raise national security concerns.
