The Boston Celtics picked up a potential high-level player in big man Chris Cenac Jr. with the No. 27 overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft. Rated a top-10 recruit heading into his freshman season at the NCAA level, spacing issues and an underwhelming campaign at Houston under head coach Kelvin Sampson saw his draft stock drop enough for him to be on the board when Boston was selecting in the first round.
But what sort of player will the New Orleans, Louisiana native be for the Celtics this season and beyond? Can he impact the game on both ends of the court? What sort of role might he play with the team, and how did his play in Las Vegas Summer League action with the Sin Cit Celtics inform our opinion of what he might be capable of in the short- and medium-term future?
