US may not have capacity to take down full barrage of Iranian drones, officials warn | US-Israel war on Iran

Top military officials told lawmakers in a closed-door briefing on Tuesday that they may not be able to shoot down every Iranian drone being launched against US military installations and assets in retaliatory attacks, according to two people familiar with the matter. The officials, led by the chair of the joint chiefs of staff, Gen Dan Caine, said Iran has been deploying thousands of one-way attack drones, and while the US military has capacity to take down the vast majority, it cannot intercept all of them. As a result, the officials said in a classified briefing for lawmakers on Capitol

Al Jazeera – Breaking News, World News and Video from Al Jazeera

As the United States and Israel launched the war on Iran on February 28, Tehran’s response was swift. Not only did Iran fire missiles and drones towards Israel, but it also targeted US assets in Gulf countries, expanding the conflict in one of the most important energy-producing regions in the world. In the past month, Iranian attacks have damaged or destroyed radar systems, a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defence system and Reaper drones in attacks on US bases in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait as it sought to counter the US air

Fox News uses old clip of Trump after he wore hat while saluting slain US soldiers | Donald Trump

Fox News used old video of Donald Trump in multiple reports on Saturday and Sunday, concealing from viewers that the commander-in-chief wore a golf hat throughout a ceremony on Saturday in which he saluted six flag-draped transfer cases carrying the remains of the first US troops to die in his war on Iran. The president had stirred outrage online by failing to remove his Trump-brand white hat during the ritual homecoming at Dover air force base in Delaware on Saturday for six army reserve soldiers killed in Kuwait. On Saturday afternoon, Fox News did initially broadcast the correct video of

USA–Iran War Just Hit a Breaking Point — And It’s Not About

Hidden inside Iran’s response to a proposed peace deal is a line so explosive it could outlast the war itself. It’s not about money, sanctions, or rebuilding. It’s about control—total, formal, and permanent. At the heart of Iran’s position is a simple but far-reaching demand: global recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. This isn’t just another negotiation point. It’s a claim over one of the most critical arteries in the global economy—a narrow passage through which a massive share of the world’s oil, LNG, and even helium flows every single day. If that demand survives into any

Trump defends war with Iran as conflict widens, military names first service members who were killed

On a call with reporters Tuesday afternoon, senior Trump administration officials described the negotiation process leading up to the president’s decision to strike Iran.  The president for weeks has been insisting that Iran needed to reach a deal to abandon its nuclear program. But one senior Trump administration official on the call said “it was very clear” the Iranian regime was trying to get the U.S. into a long, drawn-out process. The officials only agreed to speak with reporters on the condition of anonymity.  “We really thought that they would show real movement toward creating a real deal, but all

He explained that relations with King Charles remained strong ahead of his planned state visit, adding: “He is a friend of mine, a great gentleman… he honoured me and our country. How to navigate the TSA lines with kids, elders or a disability

Updated March 28, 2026, 10:30 a.m. ET Waiting in what officials are calling the “highest wait times in TSA history” amid the partial government shutdown is a headache for many travelers. For others, it’s much more challenging. Lawmakers failed to reach a deal that would fund the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees the Transportation Security Administration, on March 27, prompting President Trump to sign an order rerouting federal funds to pay airport security workers. Unlike past shutdowns, TSA officers could receive payment as quickly as March 30. Since the shutdown began in mid-February, TSA officers have been working without

Donald Trump Is Breaking Up with Europe

In January, he even threatened to seize Greenland by force from Denmark, a threat so shocking—even if it shouldn’t have been—that many European leaders agreed with the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, who used his speech at the World Economic Forum, in Davos, to proclaim the end of the “pleasant fiction” that there was still such a thing as a U.S.-led liberal international order. As for Europe’s top security priority, helping Ukraine beat back Russia’s invasion, Trump has already ended all direct U.S. military assistance to Kyiv; repeatedly blamed the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, rather than Putin, for the
