Video shows tourists breaking Yellowstone rules at Grand Prismatic

Updated July 21, 2026, 5:11 p.m. ET Visitors are supposed to stick to designated walkways around thermal features at Yellowstone National Park.  It’s not just for their own safety or the protection of the park’s famed, fragile resources. It’s also the law.   That didn’t seem to stop two recent tourists at Yellowstone’s largest hot spring.  Tanya Saueressig of Livingston, Montana, captured video of them walking on the colorful bacterial mats of the park’s iconic Grand Prismatic Spring on July 18. “I did this double take like, this can’t be real … yep, that’s actually people out there,” she told USA TODAY. “And then I started getting scared for them because people have fallen into the thermal features.”

How FIFA turned the 2026 World Cup into a record-breaking $15.2 billion business

It was the World Cup of excess – of stadiums unlike almost anything else in the world, 104 games, relentless scoring from the sport’s biggest stars, Donald Trump and, above all, the $15.2 billion FIFA generated across every revenue stream, all for the benefit of soccer. A large portion of that money is said to now be directed toward what experts describe as the sport’s pyramid, with national associations receiving a significant financial boost to help develop the game. That figure is double the revenue generated by the World Cup in Qatar, which brought in around $7.6 billion. Russia 2018

Cuba edges toward breakdown as power cuts and US meddling push society to brink | Cuba

When Cuba’s national grid collapses, as it did for the third time in 10 days on Tuesday, a collective groan spreads across its cities and people wonder, again, whether the island’s antiquated electricity system may soon become unrecoverable. The 777-mile long Caribbean island of 9.5 million people has been sweltering under a six-month-long oil blockade imposed by the US, part of a pressure campaign to bring down its communist government. But the parlous state of Cuba’s infrastructure goes far further back. “The backbone of the system is still the big power plants,’ said Jorge Piñon, a senior energy researcher at
