As the U.S. men’s national team prepares for its opening match of the 2026 World Cup against Paraguay on Friday, June 12, the squad will be able to call upon some stellar talent.
With several players featuring in some of the biggest clubs and leagues throughout Europe, the USMNT is hoping this talented core can impress on home soil.
Here are some of the key players for the national team:
Christian Pulisic
The face of the USMNT, Pulisic has been a pivotal part of the senior national team since his debut in 2016.
In the last World Cup, Pulisic scored the game-winning goal in the final group-stage match against Iran to help the side advance to the knockout stages.
Playing his club football at AC Milan, the 27-year-old began the season on a tear. However, in 2026, Pulisic only provided one goal contribution for the Serie A giants.
During the USMNT’s recent friendly against Senegal in Charlotte, Pulisic broke out of his slump with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory.

This past season for Juventus, the 27-year-old had arguably his best campaign in club football.

At Crystal Palace, Richards helped the south London side win the FA Cup, Community Shield and Europa Conference League within the past year.
Dealing with an injury in the latter part of the season, the FC Dallas academy product appears ready to go for the tournament.

The Arsenal product has impressed at AS Monaco, scoring a club-high 19 goals across all competitions this season.
During the 2025-26 Ligue 1 campaign, Balogun’s 13 goals were the fourth-most in the league.
