Lebanon: two IDF attacks in south Beirut
Two raids hit the area south of Beirut, despite the ceasefire in effect for three weeks between Israel and the Iranian-backed Shiite Hezbollah movement. “The Israeli enemy launched two attacks on the Saadiyat highway,” the Lebanese state-run National News Agency reported, pointing to an area located about 20 kilometres from the Lebanese capital and outside Hezbollah’s traditional strongholds. An Afp journalist on the scene reported seeing two cars hit and emergency vehicles responding along the highway linking Beirut to southern Lebanon. No information on any casualties or targets of the raids has been released at the moment.

Gb sends ‘Dragon’ cruiser to the Persian Gulf area
Britain will send the cruiser HMS ‘Dragon’ to the Persian Gulf area, with a view to a possible joint operation to secure the Strait of Hormuz: this was announced by the Ministry of Defence in London.
“The pre-positioning of HMS ‘Dragon’ is part of a prudent planning that will ensure that the United Kingdom is ready, as part of a multinational coalition led jointly by the United Kingdom and France, to secure the Strait when conditions permit,” reads the statement released by the Ministry.
