Round of 32: England vs DR Congo
Time/TV: 12:00 PM ET on Fox at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia
Why watch: DR Congo has been one of the biggest stories of the tournament, surprising everyone to get to the knockout rounds. While England is heavily favored here, DR Congo’s biggest strength is exactly what the Three Lions have struggled with all tournament. The biggest question here is, can England finally solve the low block and get some goals? If the answer is no, the upset alerts could be sounding off.
Why it could disappoint: DR Congo will be doing what they do best, sitting back to defend their goal and then trying to pounce on any counter-attacking chances. If England breaks through early, this one could easily get out of hand or turn into a slow and boring exercise.
Round of 32: Belgium vs Senegal
Time/TV: 4:00 PM ET on FS1 at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington
Why watch: Belgium’s Golden Generation is hanging by a thread. The Red Devils finally broke through against New Zealand with some goals. Can they continue to do so against a much better test in Senegal? The African side is coming off a resounding 5-0 thrashing of Iraq. If we’re lucky, the goals will keep flowing in an entertaining, back-and-forth elimination match.
Why it could disappoint: Both teams have been inconsistent. Belgium has had one good half and several mediocre ones, and Senegal still hasn’t put a full 90 minutes together. With both sides not at their best, this could turn into a very cagey match.

Round of 32: USA vs Bosnia and Herzegovina
Time/TV: 8:00 PM ET on Fox at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California
Why watch: The U.S. looked like world-beaters in their first two group matches, before resting their starters and getting humbled by Turkey. Can they regain their momentum in the knockouts? That’s the biggest question facing Mauricio Pochettino’s side. If they can, it could be another shining moment for the hosts.
Why it could disappoint: It’s pretty easy to predict the script here. Bosnia’s only chance to pull off the win is to play a conservative match. Sit back, defend as a team, and try to grab a goal on the break. If they do it effectively, it won’t be the most entertaining match in this round.
