All matches at Wimbledon have been suspended
Wimbledon qualifying has been suspended due to issues with the electronic line-calling system caused by the heat.
It has since been revealed that the system is being fully recalibrated and the plan was for play to resume at 1:15pm, but it has now been pushed back to 1:25pm with action back underway shortly after that.
A spokesperson for the All England Club said: “There was a temporary loss of power to part of our Qualifying venue, which meant that the electronic line calling system could not function. Power has now been restored and play is expected to resume shortly.”
Speaking on the stoppage, BBC presenter Annabel Croft said: “Well, play has been suspended here. It is quite an unusual situation as the heat is wreaking havoc with the electronic line calling system all around the ground.”
Immediately after an announcement to those in attendance, Croft added: “Well there we are, you heard it there, no play before 12.45pm and they say ‘stay hydrated’.
Andrew Castle added: “We don’t need to be told to drink, quite frankly. It is seriously hot.”

Dan Evans was one of those currently in action and upon his match against Tristan Schoolkate resuming, he was beaten and thus his singles career is over.
The first round proper is due to commence on Monday, June 29 with the full draw to be made on Friday once all qualifying games have been completed.
By the time that arrives, the temperature in London is expected to decrease significantly, with a red weather warning currently in place for some parts of the United Kingdom.
Carlos Alcaraz has already pulled out of featuring at the All England Club while Jannik Sinner is looking to bounce back from a disappointing French Open, which was won by Alexander Zverev.
On the women’s side of the draw, Aryna Sabalenka will also be aiming to respond to the difficulties she faced at Rolland Garros with the world No.1 yet to reach the semi-finals in SW19.
Tennis icon Serena Williams has done that and gone one better on multiple occasions, and she will return to Wimbledon as a wildcard entry.
As for Emma Radacanu, she is fresh off losing in the Queen’s Club final to Donna Vekic but the Brit performed well throughout the tournament after a challenging start to 2026.
